Welcome to the Bridport Barracudas Water Polo official site

Bridport Barracudas Water Polo is a section of the Bridport Barracudas Swimming Club & both take place at Bridport Leisure Centre.

The sport has a long history in the town stretching back to 1898, being reformed in Bridport Leisure Centre in 1994 and now boasting more than 36 Juniors and 18 Seniors playing the sport on a weekly basis.

Bridport Leisure Centre run two sessions, the first session is monday 7.30-8.30pm (key stage 3, ages 11-14) and the second session is thursday 4pm to 5pm (key stage 2, ages 7-11). For 50 weeks of the year for youngsters both boys and girls.

The club follow the Leisure Centre sessions with their own session which runs from 8.30-9.30pm (Mondays) throughout the year, with the exception of bank holidays and school summer holidays. This session is open to older Juniors and Senior Men & Ladies.

Players train to participate in the Dorset Water Polo League, ASA South West Championships, friendly matches and tournaments and we encourage them to further their skills and abilities through the sporting pathway at county, regional and national level.

Summer holidays enable us to visit our traditional home in the harbour at West Bay to play a series of friendly matches against visiting teams in an open water environment.

The club is affiliated to the Dorset ASA, ASA South West, and the ASA.

We are a very welcoming club, our aim is not only to give players the best training and playing opportunities but as with all team sports skills such as coaching can help anyone throughout their adult life. If you would like to try the sport please pop by on a monday evening (term time) and ask for Fred, or alternatively see the "Contact" page for contact details
